20 грудня 2013 року на своїй 68-й сесії Генеральна Асамблея Організації Об’єднаних Націй (ГА ООН) у резолюції 68/205 проголосила 3 березня Міжнародним днем прийняття Конвенції
про міжнародну торгівлю видами дикої природи, яким загрожує зникнення.
До акції з нагоди Всесвітнього дня захисту дикої природи приєдналися і клубиАнглійської
Прем’єр-ліги.
Зокрема,”Вулвергемптон”,”Астон Вілла”і”Вест Бромвіч”на

Наприклад, на емблемі клубу”Брайтон”- чайка,”Тоттенгема”- півник Чірпі,”Лестера”- лисиця,”Крістал Пелас”- орел,а”Челсі”- лев.
Однак ці клуби не афішували підтримки згаданої акції.
